Passion and love of country. This is Marv Levy, former head coach of the Buffalo Bills NFL team. Levy, 92 at the time, is standing in the rain during the 72nd anniversary of V-J Day, September 2, 2017 at the National World War II Memorial. Yes, he is standing. Levy and 21 classmates joined the Army right after high school graduation. He was sent to weather school. The war ended before being sent overseas. NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Smith, stood out there in the rain with him. Smith said, "What he has meant to not only football, but to have served in World War II, to be a scholar on top of that, all of the accomplishments sportswise, doesn't compare with his passion and his love for this country. The fact that he's out here today, being the keynote speaker, speaks volumes."
